The phone is often the best witness,
if it is examined properly.
Bifrost examiners extract and analyse iOS and Android devices: messages, location history, app data and deleted content. For corporate, legal, HR and compliance matters, consent-based acquisition takes 15 to 30 minutes on a standard laptop.
Every tap leaves a trace.
Phones hold the communications, location history, photographs, financial records and app data that make or break an investigation. Whether the matter is misconduct, intellectual property theft, fraud, harassment or a criminal case, the smartphone often carries the most important evidence.
Our lab handles the full range of acquisition, from logical extraction of an unlocked device to file-system and physical acquisition, and chip-off techniques for damaged or destroyed devices. Every examination follows forensic practice: documented device intake, network isolation, hash verification and reporting that meets international evidentiary standards.
Not every matter needs the lab. For corporate, legal, HR and compliance cases where the device owner agrees, Bifrost offers consent-based mobile acquisition: a 15 to 30 minute logical extraction on a standard laptop, hashed at capture, with the consent recorded in the custody log.
- A forensic examination report with methodology and artifact inventory
- A unified timeline across devices, apps and accounts
- A location report showing where the device was, and when
- Decoded messages, call logs and media, including recovered deleted content
- Spyware and stalkerware findings, where surveillance is suspected
- An expert witness statement, with testimony available
From intake to report.
Intake
We record device condition, identifiers and OS version, photograph it, and isolate it from the network so it cannot be wiped remotely.
Acquire
We choose the least intrusive method that answers the question: consent-based logical, file-system, physical, cloud backup, or chip-off for damaged devices. Everything is hashed at capture.
Decode and examine
Messages, app databases, location records and deleted entries are parsed and examined, then correlated with other devices in the matter.
Report
You receive the report, timeline and extracts, written to evidentiary standard, with an examiner ready to testify.
Six kinds of evidence on every device.
Communications
SMS, iMessage and RCS, encrypted messaging apps, social media messages, call logs and VoIP records.
Location history
GPS, significant locations, Wi-Fi and cell-tower records reconstructed into a movement timeline.
Media and files
Photo and video metadata, document access history and cloud-sync artifacts.
App artifacts
Browser history, email caches, banking and social-media app records.
Device activity
Screen and app usage timelines, notifications and power events that show when the device was in use.
Deleted content
Deleted database records, message deletion times and remnants carved from unallocated space.
When the owner agrees, it takesminutes, not days.
Built for corporate, legal, HR and compliance matters, where a full lab examination would be out of proportion.
- 15 to 30 minute logical extraction
- Runs on a standard laptop, on site or remote
- Hashes recorded at the moment of capture
- Consent documented in the custody log
- Scoped to what the matter needs
- Escalates to a full lab examination if required
Who it is for
Counsel, HR and compliance teams investigating misconduct, departing employees or fraud; organizations whose incident has a mobile component; and anyone who suspects a phone is being monitored. From a single device to many custodian phones.
- Bifrost digital forensics, computers, cloud and network evidence alongside the phone
- eDiscovery, mobile data in a disclosure set
- TYR evidence platform, packaging and chain of custody for the extraction
- Insider threat, when the investigation is about staff
What buyers ask.
Do you need to take the phone away?
Not always. For consent-based matters, a logical extraction takes 15 to 30 minutes on a standard laptop and the device goes straight back to its owner. Locked, damaged or contested devices come to the lab.
Can you recover deleted messages?
Often, yes. Deleted content frequently persists in database logs, caches and unallocated space. What is recoverable depends on the device, the app and the time since deletion, and we tell you plainly what we found and how.
Is a consent-based extraction defensible?
Yes, when it is done properly. Hashes are recorded at capture, the consent is logged in the chain of custody, and the method is documented in the report.
I think my phone is being monitored. Can you check?
Yes. We examine devices for commercial spyware, stalkerware and misused device-management profiles, and report what was monitored and since when.
One phone or a hundred, scope it with an examiner.
Tell us about the matter and the devices involved. No charge, no commitment.
